Only a Matter of Time
Don’t worry my little friend, you’ll soon be my precious:
I saw one in the backyard today; those buggers are wayyyy faster than I thought.
I have my squirrel hunting gear all ready to go though:
That’s a throwing stick (Bear Grylls style) and a harpoon. I was going to add a net to the kit, but I have no chance of getting close enough to use it. I might set up a snare here though, we’ll see.
So either today or tomorrow I’ll be cruising the neighborhood squirrel hunting. The neighbors should love that.

Greg Bissonette must be LOVING this. I’m looking forward to video footage of you munching squirrel-on-a-stick!

where did you get a harpoon? no way that should have been given to you, you should have had to make on out of wood using your knife. i call shenanigans on that one

Where did you get a spear, I’m pretty sure that was not in the rules, also what’s the deal with the camera, I can try and help

Barbarian,
I’m intrigued that you will be attempting to catch a squirrel with a throwing stick and a harpoon since most people will use the following:

which will end in this picture:

Too bad you didn’t plan in advance or were given a Vicor Rat trap as it has been know to also catch a squirrel:

Best of luck in your quest, if you need squirrel recipes, I have already located many online, none which seem appetizing to me…

ok so apparently the pictures I attached didn’t work, I’ll have to look into that…. sorry

I’ll match the pot total and give it to charity if you actually catch and eat a squirrel.
Start getting use to the fact that you have 4 and 1/2 more days of mussels to eat.
How’s the fishing? I want fishing pictures/videos.

Hey Anthony,
i applaud your resourcefulness and enthusiasm. if the squirrel thing doesn’t workout there are bugs and slugs and things of that nature that you can cook up (let me know if i should research recipes) - crawly creatures could also be used to garnish your entre if you manage to land a squirrel - presentation is everything. Good luck and enjoy the break in the weather. rain on saturday.

This reminds of Caddyshack. Hung Bar is the modern day Carl Spackler. I can already see that squirrel doing the victory dance on Hung Bar’s shrunken stomach.

squirrels are dumb…throw rocks at them

Be careful or the PETA people might come find you.

Galbo!
Team Midwest is pulling for you! You can do it. I wish my standard poodle was at your house, she caught a squirrel once.
Just be glad you aren’t in the MidWest this week, there have been deadly tornados. Last night, one hit a boy scout field trip in Iowa.
I am jealous of the killer tan you probably have by now!
Stay Brave!

Don’t give up hope, Squirrel dumplings are a mainstay in rural Tenn….You got that goin for ya….. I saw your buddy take one out at 50′ with a rock, when he was in shape. It is not impossible…just lead them a little.
Oh… just an FYI, you should have a line in the water at night.
Ciao ragazzo!

Anthony, this is gloriously idiotic. But I am pulling for you hunting a squirrel and would love to see my brother have to eat his words cause he doesn’t think you could do it. And its true dan hit a squirrel one day with a rock and it was knocked out for about 10 minutes…that would leave you enough time for you to use your spear. godspeed.
